Why Get an Assessment
What a Formal Assessment Tells You
A speech and language assessment gives you a clear, evidence-based picture of your child’s or your own communication strengths and difficulties. It answers the question: how significant is the difficulty, and what should be done next?
Assessments can be booked as a standalone service — no referral from a doctor is required. Reports are accepted by MOE schools, paediatricians, and early intervention centres.
What We Assess
Assessment Areas
We assess the full range of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using internationally standardised tools.
Speech Sound Assessment
Articulation, phonology, and intelligibility. For children or adults who have concerns that speech is unclear, or not easily understood by others (such as sound omission or substitution).
Language Assessment
Vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, ability to express effectively and narrative abiloty. For children or adults with language delay or difficulty.
Literacy & Phonological Awareness
Reading for understanding, writing to express ideas and thoughts, and phonological awareness. Reports accepted by MOE for and Learning Support Programme referrals.
Fluency Assessment
Severity and type of stuttering or cluttering, impact on daily life, and recommendations for intervention.
Voice Assessment
Voice quality, pitch, loudness, and endurance. For adults and children with voice difficulties including vocal nodules, vocal cord palsy, and spasmodic dysphonia.
Swallowing Assessment
Oral and pharyngeal swallowing function. FEES and VFSS available for complex or medically complex cases.

Attend
Your therapist conducts standardised tests and observations in a warm, relaxed setting.

Report
A detailed written report is prepared within 1 month of your assessment.

Follow-Up
A consultation to discuss findings and recommended next steps is included with every assessment.
